GMF launched new cabin shop


In order to develop its capability and capacity, GMF AeroAsia launched its new cabin shop on 5 February 2010. The new Cabin Shop which is used for wide-body aircrafts built since mid of 2009, and it was part of capacity addition and preexisting program.

"The development is to anticipate customer demand which continues to increase," said General Manager Cabin Maintenance of GMF AeroAsia Mr. Aris Mundi. The new facilities consist of incoming part, Cleaning, repairing, drying room, store materials, laminating room, and special room painting.

Within the opening of the new cabin shop, GMF also began operating the vacuum applicator that serves to shape the object laminating process or difficult contours. Vacuum Applicator is also for laminating objects with three-dimensional contours that can not be done with manual laminating. "Vacuum Applicator is our own design," said Mr. Aris Mundi. "But its complied with manufacturer standards."< br />
The new addition of cabin shop facility along with the development of galley and lavatory maintenance process, included full capability of seat repair. Mr. Aris Mundi said its capability will fully support the refurbishment of the A330 and B 747-400. Mr. Aris said that the opening of the new cabin shop and the addition of this facility are expected to give positive impact for the company. "Because all related works can be done by GMF itself," he said.
