Bali, 14 November 2022 – PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) has just agreed to explore a business partnership with Sanad, a UAE-based global industrial service leader with more than 30 years of experience in holding the Indonesia-UAE Business & Investment Forum, held at the Museum Pasifika, Nusa Dua, Bali, on Saturday (12/11) as part of the B20 Summit activities. GMF and Sanad signed a Memorandum of Understanding which agreed to cooperate in the maintenance of aircraft engines and Industrial Gas Turbine Engines (IGTE) with high quality and advanced technology in Indonesia.

Indonesia's location in the heart of Asia Pacific gives an attractive selling point for Sanad in expanding its global expansion. Asia Pacific has the largest aviation market growth potential in the world, so this collaboration is expected to support the expansion of the two companies. Sanad, who has a long experience as an MRO for aircraft engine maintenance and IGTE, cooperates with GMF as the largest MRO in Indonesia to strengthen services, especially in aircraft engine maintenance and IGTE markets. In addition, Sanad will also conduct an exploration of the development of IGTE at GMF. This is expected to support GMF's expansion in diversifying its IGTE business significantly.

The potential value of IGTE maintenance is also high in Indonesia, one of the biggest countries in the world with a significant industrial cycle movement and a variety of resources. It is an opportunity for GMF and Sanad to provide qualified maintenance services going forward. It is hoped that in the future this collaboration can reinforce higher quality services with competitive Turn Around Time (TAT).

The CEO of GMF, Andi Fahrurrozi, said that GMF's business strategy to reach the IGTE market as a sustainable recovery effort would be more intensively carried out by working side by side with Sanad. "Sanad is a key player in providing global industrial services. GMF believes there is a lot of potential that can be explored together to increase each other's capabilities and coverage," said Andi.

Regarding aircraft engine maintenance, Andi said that the aircraft engine maintenance facility that GMF currently has is ready to be developed with Sanad for demand volume which is predicted to increase after the two companies collaborate. "The Engine Shop owned by GMF currently has the capability to maintain the world’s mostly used aircraft engines, so with additional support from Sanad, maximum service can be provided," said Andi.
