Muscat, October 05th 2026 — PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF), part of the Garuda Indonesia Group, part of Garuda Indonesia Group, has signed a Concession Agreement with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of the Sultanate of Oman for the operation of a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at Muscat International Airport under a 20-year concession.

The agreement was signed by GMF CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, and President of the CAA Oman, Eng. Naif Ali Hamed Al-Abri, during the Civil Aviation Investment Forum (CAIF) 2026 at the CAA headquarters in Muscat on Monday (10/05). The agreement marks an important step for GMF in expanding its operational presence into international markets.

Under the agreement, CAA Oman will serve as the hangar owner and concession provider, as well as the aviation regulator responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable aviation regulations and safety standards in Oman. GMF will develop and operate the hangar and supporting facilities, bringing its technical expertise and experience in aircraft maintenance services. The development will be carried out in phases, based on market demand and the agreed business plan.

Oman's strategic location is expected to provide GMF with broader access to markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, while complementing the company's existing service network from its operational base in Indonesia.

“The development of an MRO facility in Oman marks the first step in establishing GMF’s operational presence closer to customers in the Middle East and surrounding regions. With our experience and capabilities, we see an opportunity to serve a broader aircraft maintenance market while contributing to the growth of Oman’s aviation industry,” said Andi.

On the same occasion, GMF also signed a Commemoration Document with Mach Aerospace International to support the development of aviation capabilities and human resources. The collaboration is part of GMF’s efforts to strengthen the supporting ecosystem for MRO operations in Oman.

As the next step, GMF will continue its operational preparations with local partners through the phased development of facilities, capabilities, and human resources. By strengthening its presence in international markets and building strategic partnerships, GMF remains committed to delivering services that go beyond technical reliability to create greater value for its customers.
