Jakarta, June 08th 2026 — PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF), a member of the Garuda Indonesia Group, has marked another important milestone in its business development with the achievement of AS9100D Certification from SIRIM QAS International, Malaysia. The certification, awarded to GMF on Wednesday (06/03) at JIEXPO Kemayoran during International Industrial Week Indonesia 2026, recognizes the Company's implementation of an internationally recognized quality management system for the aviation, space, and defense industries.
The AS9100D Certification obtained by GMF covers Aerospace Single Part Manufacturing (Composite & Metallic), Assembly, and Special Processes, including Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Heat Treatment, Chemical Processing, Surface Enhancement, and Painting. The certification serves as an important foundation for developing the Company's manufacturing capabilities and for optimizing its manufacturing workshop capacity to meet customer requirements in accordance with internationally recognized standards.
GMF CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, stated that the certification represents a strategic step in strengthening the Company's business diversification efforts while expanding growth opportunities beyond its core Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business.
“In the aerospace industry, there is zero tolerance for error. AS9100D is not merely a certification; it is a key requirement for companies seeking to participate in the global aviation supply chain. This certification validates that GMF's engineering and manufacturing capabilities meet internationally recognized standards. With this achievement, GMF now has a stronger foundation to further develop its aircraft component manufacturing and aerostructure business,” said Andi.
In addition to strengthening GMF's capabilities, the certification opens opportunities for the Company to enter the global aerospace supply chain by producing and supplying internationally compliant components for aerospace companies worldwide.
The journey toward achieving AS9100D involved an intensive preparation and implementation process. Various initiatives were undertaken, including the enhancement of operational procedures, competency development for personnel, strengthening of the quality management system, and adjustments to production facilities. These efforts were carried out through the consistent implementation of the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle as part of GMF's continuous improvement culture.
In parallel, GMF strengthened its risk management practices through a structured safety and risk management framework, including the implementation of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment & Mitigation (HIRAM). This approach supports the quality and reliability of manufacturing processes while ensuring operational standards are consistently applied throughout production activities.
This achievement also marks an important milestone in strengthening GMF's capabilities beyond its established position as an MRO service provider, reinforcing its role as an aerospace manufacturing organization. In line with the Company's business expansion strategy, the AS9100D Certification opens opportunities for international market development while strengthening GMF's position in delivering integrated solutions for the aviation, defense, and industrial solutions sectors to meet customer needs at both national and global levels.
Moving forward, GMF will continue to enhance the utilization and capacity of its manufacturing workshops to facilitate the sustainable growth of its aerospace manufacturing business. The Company is also committed to maintaining the certification through the consistent implementation of continuous improvement practices, while further strengthening its capabilities through the pursuit of additional certifications, including AS9120 for distribution activities and NADCAP certifications for various special processes.
“This achievement not only reinforces GMF's position as a competitive aircraft component manufacturing player, but also reflects the readiness of Indonesia's aerospace industry to participate more extensively in the global aerospace ecosystem. We will continue strengthening our capabilities and expanding collaboration to create greater value for customers while enhancing Indonesia's contribution to the global aerospace industry,” Andi concluded.
