Batam, June 13th 2026PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF), a member of the Garuda Indonesia Group, continues to solidify its position as a key player in the development of the aircraft maintenance industry through its participation in the Indonesia MRO Summit (IMROS) 2026, organized by the Indonesia Aircraft Maintenance Services Association (IAMSA) at Radisson Hotel Batam on (06/09-10). Bringing together national and regional aviation stakeholders, particularly those in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector, the event served as a strategic platform for GMF to reaffirm its commitment to fostering collaboration and strengthening the competitiveness and self-reliance of Indonesia’s MRO ecosystem.

During the event, GMF signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with two national MRO companies, PT Aero Nusantara Indonesia (ANI) and PT Merpati Maintenance Facility (MMF). The MoU with ANI was signed by the GMF CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, and ANI CEO, Capt. Otto Sigit Budianto. Through this partnership, GMF and ANI are exploring synergies encompassing the utilization of resources, facilities, as well as technical, operational, and business capabilities from both parties. This includes collaborative opportunities in aircraft engine and component maintenance services, business development, and the optimization of aviation industry support facilities.

On the same occasion, the MoU with MMF was signed by GMF CEO, Andi Fahrurrozi, and MMF CEO, Eddy Supriyono. This collaboration focuses on the utilization of hangars and maintenance facilities for both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters, joint aircraft component services, as well as mutual support in workforce utilization, tools, equipment, materials, and other supporting resources.

In addition to securing strategic partnerships with national industry players, GMF also contributed thought leadership on key developments and challenges facing the MRO industry through the participation of its executives as speakers at the summit. GMF Human Capital Management Group Head, Lia Yuanawati, delivered a presentation titled “From Workforce to Worksmart: Addressing the Global MRO Talent Gap,” highlighting the growing talent shortage across the global MRO industry. Meanwhile, Corporate Strategy & Digital Transformation Group Head, R. Rendy Purwidyaputra, shared insights on strengthening regional industry collaboration through a session titled “Regional MRO Hubs: Driving Collective Growth Across Asia-Pacific.”

GMF CEO and the Chairman of IAMSA, Andi Fahrurrozi, stated that collaboration among national aviation industry players is the key to sharpening the competitive edge of the national MRO industry amidst the dynamic growth of the aviation sector.

"GMF's participation in IMROS 2026 reflects our commitment to not only strengthening the Company's capabilities but also forging closer synergies among industry peers. We hope that the partnerships established through the signing of these MoUs between GMF and ANI, as well as GMF and MMF, will optimize each other’s capabilities, thereby fostering a more integrated national MRO ecosystem that is fully equipped to meet future industry demands," Andi concluded.
